Rev Jacquelyn Barksdale Jones was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System. Upon graduation from high school she attended Virginia State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Library Science and a Masters of Education degree in Media Technology. She later attended the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where she graduated receiving a Masters of Divinity degree.
Jacquelyn worked as an educator in the Pittsylvania County School System and the Danville City School System for a total of 37 years before retiring in 2010. After a few years of rest and relaxation she returned to work for the Virginia Department of Corrections, where she is currently employed at Green Rock Correctional Center- Educational Division as Librarian for the Academic and Vocational School. Rev. Jones has served on the Chaplain Staff at the Danville Regional Medical Center- (Sovah Health). She is an active member of the Virginia Library Association and a lifetime member of the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention.
She answered the call to preach the gospel in 2001 and preached her initial sermon in 2002. She was licensed at the Trinity Baptist Church where she served as an associate minister, Director of the Christian Education, Director of the Women’ Ministry. Rev. Jones was ordained in 2014 under the leadership of Rev. Dwane Massenburg and the Cherrystone Missionary Association Ordination Council. In April of 2018, God redirected the ministry of Rev. Jones to join in fellowship with the First Baptist -East Martinsville, VA, where she is presently serving as an associate minister and Director of Christian Education under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Charles Whitfield.
Rev. Jones is one of two daughters born to the late James C. Barksdale and the late Mattie Fitzgerald Barksdale. Rev Jones is the mother of two grown sons and the grandmother of five beautiful grandchildren.
As she humbly accepts the assignment God has placed on her life, she continues to lean and depend on His word. As she is guided by the Holy Spirit, she truly believes that it’s, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of host”, that she is able to do the will of the Lord.

Mary Jack is an Associate Minister. She is thankful that God led her to First Baptist Church East Martinsville. She was called into ministry by God in the early ‘70s. She went to Milwaukee Theological Seminary for two years. She learned to prepare sermons and messages about God’s Word to lead others to Christ.
She has eight brothers and feels that God has blessed her to be an example for them. She is the proud parent of three daughters, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Her favorite scripture is found in Psalms:124, “If it had not been the Lord who was on my side…”

Minister Tamika Whitfield Hairston is the last of five children born to Rev. Dr. Kirby L Whitfield, Sr. and the late Frances Whitfield. She is married to Spencer Hairston of Stoneville, NC and is the proud mother of one earthen angel, “Rhami”.
She attended Richmond Virginia Seminary and Jacksonville Theological Seminary to increase her knowledge of God’s precepts. She was licensed to preach the gospel in July 2003 by her father at the Morning Side Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mt, VA where he serves as pastor.
Currently you’ll find Minister Tamika actively working and serving at First Baptist Church E. Martinsville where her brother, Rev. Charles R. Whitfield is pastor. There she is the Director of Music, Youth Advisor and Women’s Ministry Facilitator.
Rev. Reginald Eldridge is the associate pastor at the First Baptist Church in East Martinsville Virginia. He accepted the called to the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach in June 1986. Rev. Eldridge has pastored for 23 years in the Western North Carolina Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
Rev. Eldridge holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Gardner Webb University School of Divinity in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
Rev. Eldridge has completed studies and service in Pastoral Care and Counseling at the Rutherford Regional Hospital in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. He completed studies in Business Education for Middle and High School at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. . He is employed with the Martinsville City Public Schools as an Instructional Assistant teacher at Albert Harris Elementary School.
Rev. Eldridge has two children, Regina Marie of Charlotte, North Carolina and Andre Dominique of Charlotte, of North Carolina.
Rev Eldridge loves to serve the Kingdom of God and believes that “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day because the night will come. Rev Eldridge believes in the acronym T.E.A.M., “Together Everyone Achieves More”.
